Most people who utilise a printer in the workplace

Most people who utilise a printer in the workplace or home office often refer to toner and ink cartridges especially when the said cartridges need replacing or updating. The real case however, is that generally many people do not actually realise that ink and toner cartridges are in fact, completely different products and that they each have a different function.

The main difference between ink cartridges and toner cartridges is that they are each used on a different type of printer machine. Toner cartridges are compatible with laserjet type printers and other equipment whilst ink cartridges are actually designed to be used in conjunction with inkjet based printing equipment. It is not possible to use a toner cartridge with an inkjet printer and therefore it is also not possible to combine an ink cartridge with laserjet printing machinery. Another major distinction between ink and toner cartridges is that the contents of each are made up in a completely different way. Ink for example is a liquid base formula whilst toner is actually c a very fine black powder.

In terms of a business operation deciding which option to finalise on, it can very much depend on the individual needs of the company and issues such as the regularity of printing tasks and the budget for stationery and office equipment should be taken into account. For example, although ink cartridges are generally cheaper than toner cartridges, the toner cartridge does actually last longer than the ink alternative. Both ink and toner options each have their merits, advantages and disadvantages so it is always worthwhile for each option to be examined and studies. With a huge range of both ink cartridges and toner cartridges, here at Internet Inks we can help keep any printers in both the workplace and home running at optimum levels.
